Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speaker. Feminist Frequency was established by Sarkeesian. The website hosts videos featuring commentary and analysis of gender representations in contemporary culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a blogger, critic of the media and a prestigious feminist for more than a decade. Feminist Frequency examines the way women are represented in popular culture. Aiming to break down the stereotypes associated with women in popular culture, she is a vocal advocate for issues relating to the targeted harassment of women and other marginalized classes of the Internet world. A graduate in the field of political and social thinking at York University Sarkeesian is also well-known as a sought-after speaker and she has delivered talks at the TEDxWomen XOXO festival and the United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. Feminist Frequency was founded in 2009 by Sarkeesian. university student who has been interested in issues concerning gender and feminism for a long time. A woman with ambitions to launch a web-series that would examine the gender representation of video games was targeted in an online campaign. This attack was not enough to stop her.
